Curricula
A curriculum is a reusable, ordered collection of courses. Publish it for readers to browse, then assign it to teams or learning groups when its courses should count toward their learning. Recommended order guides people without locking later courses.
When to use a curriculum
Use a curriculum when several courses form a useful sequence, such as Product foundations followed by Customer conversations and Account planning. Teams and groups answer who needs the learning; the curriculum supplies the shared course list and order.
A published curriculum appears in the Courses library. Assigned curricula also appear in the learner's relevant learning. Opening one shows its available courses in Recommended order, with progress on each course. Learners can open any course or change the displayed sort order; there are no curriculum prerequisite gates.
Course completion belongs to the course and its published version. Completing a course once contributes wherever that same course appears, including multiple curricula and assignment sources.
Create and publish a curriculum
Administrators open Account menu → Manage organization → Curricula.
- Select Create curriculum.
- Enter a unique Name and a Description explaining what the collection teaches.
- Configure its card artwork if needed; see Card artwork.
- Select Add courses, choose from the published courses, and add the selection. New selections append to the list in the picker's listed order.
- Use the reorder controls to put the courses in your recommended sequence. Use Remove from curriculum to remove a course link without deleting the course.
- Leave Status as Draft to keep preparing the collection, or choose Published when it is ready. Select Save curriculum to apply the changes.
A curriculum needs at least one course to publish. Publish the courses before adding them, and resolve any Unavailable course or Not currently published entry before making the collection available. The list's Publish selected action checks that each selected curriculum has published courses and no unavailable entries.
Curricula use an explicit Save curriculum action. Selecting Published and saving makes the curriculum available; there is no separate article-style draft-copy publication button. Saving edits to an already published curriculum changes that live collection.
Assign the collection
On a published curriculum, select Edit audience. Choose Organization or specific teams and groups, select Review changes, and then Save assignments.
You can also select several curricula and choose Assign to teams or groups, or open a learning group's Assigned Courses and select a curriculum there. Course assignments explains source coverage, public guest recommendations, and the shared review flow.
Publishing alone makes the collection browseable. Assignment adds its courses to the relevant people's assigned learning. Neither action hides courses from other admitted readers.
Update a curriculum people already use
Open the curriculum, change its description, artwork, course list, or order, then select Save curriculum. Review any learning changes when prompted.
| Change | Effect on assigned learners |
|---|---|
| Add a course | Course joins assigned learning |
| Remove a course | This curriculum stops supplying it |
| Reorder courses | Recommended sequence changes |
| Edit description or artwork | Collection presentation changes |
Saved completions remain. A course already assigned through another source keeps its continuing assignment and saved deadline. A newly assigned course receives a new assignment start and the applicable Due date. Removing a course from the curriculum does not remove an assignment supplied elsewhere.
The curriculum links to current published courses rather than freezing a copy of their lessons. A separately published course version can therefore change current completion requirements; see Revise a published course.
Return to draft or delete
To return a published curriculum to draft, first remove every team and group assignment link. Use Edit audience to clear them and save the assignment change. Then choose Draft in the curriculum editor and Save curriculum, or use Unpublish selected from the list. Fieldbook blocks returning an assigned curriculum to draft until those links are removed.
Returning it to draft removes it from the reader library. The underlying courses and their saved learning history remain.
Delete curriculum removes the collection and its team and group links. Review the affected learning before confirming. Its courses, completions, and independent assignment sources remain. A deleted curriculum does not enter the 30-day Recently deleted recovery flow.
