Progress and reporting

See who has completed assigned learning, who still has courses to finish, and why a course appears in someone’s assignments. Administrators see the organization; assigned team managers see their branches.

Progress report shows how people are doing with their assigned courses. The overview shows who has completed everything, who still has learning to finish, and who has no courses assigned. Open a person to see their courses, completion status, and assignment sources.

Open the report

In Account menu, open the report for your access:

WhoEntry pointScope
AdministratorManage organization → ProgressAll active people
Manager assigned to manage a teamMy team’s progressManaged team branches
Contributor assigned to manage a teamMy team’s progressManaged team branches

Managers and Contributors need an explicit team-manager assignment. Their role or membership in a team does not grant reporting access. A managed branch includes its subteams; a manager assigned to the Organization team can see the whole hierarchy. See Reporting teams.

The report includes active roster people in your scope, even if they have not signed in yet. It excludes inactive and deleted people. Progress made in a public guest browser is not an account report.

Read the progress measures

A course counts as complete when the person finishes every lesson and meets the completion rule for the current published version. Opening a course, reading some lessons, or finishing an older version does not complete the current one.

Each assigned course counts once per person, even if several teams, learning groups, or curricula assign it. A person’s completion percentage is the number of completed assigned courses divided by the number assigned. Optional courses they take on their own do not change that percentage.

People up to date counts people who have completed every assigned course, out of people with at least one assignment. People with no assignments appear separately. If six people have assigned learning and four finish it all, the overview shows 4 of 6 up to date, even if two other people have no assignments.

The learning statuses show what remains:

StatusMeaning
Up to dateEvery assigned course is complete
Within due datesSome courses are incomplete; none is overdue
OverdueAt least one incomplete course is past due
IncompleteSome courses are incomplete; due dates are off
No assigned coursesNo current assigned courses

The Overdue number in a person’s row counts courses. The overview’s Overdue status counts people. New user and Existing user describe the onboarding clock, not completion; a New user can already be up to date. See Due dates for how that clock works.

Find a person or course

  1. Use Search teams or people to select a branch or person, or search for matching people.
  2. Narrow the people list with Learning group, Learning status, User type, or Course activity. You can sort by name, completion, or overdue courses when due dates are on.
  3. Select a person’s name or View courses. Their assignments show each course’s published version, status, date, and Assigned through sources. Use Search courses, Course status, and the sort control to narrow this list.

Learning group selects people in that group within your reporting scope. Their completion still includes every assigned course, regardless of which team, group, or curriculum assigned it.

Learning status narrows the people list while the overview keeps all statuses for comparison. Other filters still affect the overview. Selecting a status in the overview also narrows the list.

Course activity → Not started finds people with assignments but no recorded activity on the current versions. Opening a course does not count as activity; lesson progress, a quiz attempt, or completion does.

Check an unexpected result

If a course looks incomplete or unexpectedly assigned, open the person’s assignments and check its version and Assigned through sources.

  • A new published version can require completion again, even if the earlier version was complete.
  • New lessons in the same published version can leave a previously completed person with lessons to finish.
  • A course stays assigned if another team, group, or curriculum still supplies it after one source is removed.
  • Optional learning in progress does not keep someone from being up to date on assigned courses.
  • When due dates are off, incomplete assignments still count, but deadline and overdue measures disappear.

Select Refresh report after a relevant change. If a person’s assignments fail to load, select Retry assignments before drawing a conclusion from that view.

Export the report

Select Export CSV from the people overview or a person’s assignments. The people export includes all matching people across pages. A person’s assignment export follows the current course search, status filter, and sort.

Fieldbook checks current reporting access and data before preparing an export. If the report changed or export fails, refresh the report or reopen the person’s assignments, review the current result, and export again.

Correct a record as an administrator

Managers can read progress reports but cannot correct records there. An Administrator makes corrections in the person’s management record:

  1. Open Manage organization → People.
  2. In the person’s row actions, select Progress.
  3. Find the assigned course and select View progress. Current-version records for optional courses appear under Course history.
  4. Select Mark complete or Reset progress. Review the confirmation and confirm the intended person and course.

Mark complete records every current lesson and completes the course. Reset progress clears the current version’s recorded lessons, quiz attempts, and completion. The previous state remains in the audit record.

If the course version or progress changed while you were reviewing it, reload before making the correction. Reopen the report to check the result. A correction does not change the course or its assignment sources.
